We participated for the second consecutive year in the SPE Hydraulic Fracturing Technology Conference and Exhibition 2023 (HFTC 2023), and on this occasion, ISI’s Foreign Sales Manager, Ing. Federico Arquero (an engineer), and  the Supply Chain Manager, Lic. Gustavo Rubiño (university bachelor’s degree), flew to Houston to attend this important event.

We attended various technical talks, including:

– Nitrogen Foam Fracturing in the Oil Window of the San Juan Basin: a multi-disciplined approach contributes to significant well results.

– Initial observations from a bakken microproppant field trial.

In addition, we were researching new technologies and we talked with colleagues about the current position of the hydraulic fracturing market and the challenges to be faced to continue developing and rendering services to Argentina’s oil fields.

It is also noteworthy that during our time at the exhibition we had the pleasant surprise of meeting CALFRAC Argentina personnel, one of our main clients. We exchanged opinions on the technical sessions and talked about how to continue supporting them in their operation in Argentina.

HFTC 2023 took place from January 31st to February 2nd at Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center in Woodlands, Texas.

Houston: We strengthen commercial ties

Also, Federico Arquero visited the offices and laboratories of BASF Global Oilfield Solutions during his stay in Houston. There he met Antonio Mejía, the Technical Manager, to talk about the company’s portfolio and look around the laboratories. There, Federico was able to learn in detail BASF’s capabilities regarding application tests of different products for fracture, production, clarifiers and EOR.

In addition, he met  several strategic suppliers, including Hallux, to discuss action plans to continue developing the use of enzymes in the Argentine market.

We can say that this trip and participation in HFTC 2023 was a great opportunity to learn about the latest market trends and to establish strategic relationships with other suppliers in the oil and gas sector.
