Some days ago we were in Colombia to take part in the XVIII Congreso Colombiano de Petróleo y Gas (XVIII Gas and Oil Colombian Congress) to present our technical paper on flowback water to stimulate non-conventional wells. Such paper was chosen by ACIPET’s technical committee among 60 projects presented for the same category.
The event took place in the “II Cumbre de Petróleo y Gas “Oportunidades y desafíos de la nueva revolución energética” (an oil and gas submit on opportunities and challenges of the energy revolution) that hosted more than 5,000 national and international participants. The aim of the event was to present the new developments and advances in the different areas of the hydrocarbons industry.
We visited several companies’ stands such as Superior, Halliburton, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, Weatherford, Estrella and Lupatech. Our objective was to get to know in detail the needs of the local market.
Moreover, we attended 15 talks that were very interesting and informed us about the news on improved oil recovery and the use of nanotechnology in the industry.

- Francisco José Lloreda Mera: ACP (Asociación Colombiana de Petróleo) (the Colombian Oil Association) President
- María Fernanda Suárez: Mining and Energy Minister
- Felipe Bayón: ECOPETROL President
Another reason why we went to that country was to collaborate and support Oil & Gas ISI Products S.A.S, our branch in Colombia. Besides, we were willing to know in depth our main customers’ needs to have a better presence in the market.
