ISI’s staff attended a very interesting workshop on stimulation in Neuquén on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th. The event was organized by Instituto Argentino del Petróleo y del Gas (an Argentine entity that deals with oil and gas matters). It took place at Howard Johnson Hotel in Neuquén.
There was a very comprehensive program and lectures where delivered by different companies such as Schlumberger, YPF, Tecpetrol, Weatherford, Halliburton Argentina, Pluspetrol, Wintershall Energía, Pampa Energía and SNF Floerger among others. The lecturers shared knowledge and experiences related to different oil fields which have conventional and unconventional reservoirs.
The topics discussed were divided in 4 main categories:
- Frac design
- Pre frac tests: DFIT interpretation – mini frac interpretation.
- Implementation / Operations: frac fluids – flow back water use – against sub displacement – Flow back control – logistics – special propping agents.
- Evaluation: frac growth assessment – production control.
While old reservoirs are being depleted or new low to very low permeability reservoirs are being explored, hydraulic frac stimulation technique is even more important. Thus, it is crucial for ISI Oilfield Chemicals to be updated on the news related to stimulation as well as to be informed about our clients’ needs to offer them efficient solutions.
