During July, we were delighted to welcome Petroleum Engineering students from UBA University, members of the SPE UBA Student Chapter, to our facilities.
The visit was designed to provide future industry professionals with first-hand exposure to the realities of the oil and gas sector. The most significant aim was to give an insight to the manufacturing and application processes of specialty chemicals for upstream operations:
- Cementing
- Stimulation
- Drilling muds
- Production chemicals
As part of the visit, the students attended a technical presentation on cementing additives and cementing operations. The session covered the different cementing applications encountered throughout the well productive life; basic cementing calculations; the equipment used in field operations as well as laboratory testing performed in accordance with API 10B standards, among other technical topics.
