At ISI Oilfield Chemicals, we remain strongly committed to supporting the development of the energy industry across the region, working closely with operators and service companies to address evolving technical and operational requirements.
As part of our strategy to reinforce our international presence and respond efficiently to increasing market demand, we visited key oil-producing regions in Peru and Ecuador.
Throughout a series of strategic meetings, we engaged directly with industry stakeholders to better understand upcoming investment expectations and present advanced chemical solutions for Oil & Gas operations.
Peru: Accelerated Growth Across Northern Onshore Operations
Northern Peru’s onshore market, particularly in producing areas such as Talara and El Alto, is undergoing rapid expansion. Planned investments by local operators are expected to significantly boost operational activity; therefore, strong technical support is required to sustain continuous drilling programs.
During our visits to operational bases in the region, we met with customers to discuss and learn specific project requirements of their operations, especially in each stage.
Hydraulic Fracturing: We identified opportunities to improve well stimulation performance through technologies designed for high-salinity water conditions. Such improvement enhances hydraulic efficiency and maintains operational performance. Our high-viscosity friction reducers (HVFR) and customized additive systems play a key role here.
Cementing and Fluid Loss Control: Direct interaction with leading service companies provided valuable insight into the operational challenges associated with the intense drilling activity in northern Peru. In response, we introduced tailored chemical solutions focused on optimizing slurry performance and delivering the technical support required for each operation.
Enhanced Recovery for Mature Reservoirs and Tight Oil: Our discussions focused on how to maximize crude mobility and recovery using ultra-low interfacial tension surfactants. This approach was complemented with effective treatment options for critical production challenges, including corrosion, scale, and fines migration control.
Ecuador: Tailored Solutions for a Changing Logistics Environment
In Quito, commercial discussions were largely centered on the current regional business environment. Recent tariff regulations which affect supply routes from the northern border have significantly reshaped the logistics landscape.
At ISI, we understand that operational continuity and competitiveness depend heavily on responsiveness and immediate availability of products
Not only did our visit strengthen relationships with major service companies and local distributors but also allowed us to identify several key market requirements.
Technical alternatives and Product Availability: Leading global service companies emphasized the importance of having approved local alternatives available to address potential manufacturing supply disruptions and to support the replacement of trademarked products with cost-effective ones.
Production Optimization and New Product Lines: We advanced discussions regarding our production chemical portfolio for Ecuadorian crude applications. We also identified a market niche with strong potential for joint development alongside our customers.
Safer Chemical Alternatives: Our HCl replacement technology for cleaning operations generated significant interest since it offers a solution that is considerably safer for both personnel and equipment.
Chemical Storage and Inventory Support for Oil & Gas Operations in LATAM
One of the key outcomes reinforcing the success of this commercial mission is the continued consolidation of our collaboration with our regional partner. We are positioned to provide a reliable and efficient logistics framework. Same is feasible since we are supported by a growing operational infrastructure that already includes a base in El Coca for the Ecuadorian market. Besides, we have short-term plans to set up our own warehouse in Talara.
This strategic alliance enables us to guarantee local storage capacity and immediate product availability in both Peru and Ecuador. Therefore, we significantly reduce delivery times and support our customers through the operational demands of the regional market.
Looking Ahead
This commercial mission confirms that the regional Oil & Gas market continues to demand high-performance solutions supported by close operational engagement.
As drilling and production activity continue to accelerate across the region, ISI Oilfield Chemicals is already actively working on sample dispatches, customized commercial proposals, and the technical support required to help ensure the success of every Oil & Gas project.
